    If ice won't come to Snowshoe, Snowshoe will bring the ice to you. The Rink at Snowshoe is made from synthetic ice so visitors can skate regardless of the weather. Have fun with family and friends, no matter whether you're a newbie or a longtime skater. In addition to public sessions, the Rink is available for birthday parties and other private events. Hours are 11:30 a.m. - 9:30 p.m. seven days a week through February. Admission is $35 per person, and the price includes skate rental.

  • USASA Boarder/Skier Cross - Snowshoe Resort, 10 Snowshoe Dr., Snowshoe, WV 24954
    Ready to test your skills on the slopes against some worthy competition? After a hiatus, the USASA Boarder/Skier Cross is back on Snowshoe Mountain. Over the weekend of February 24-25, speed and agility will be the name of the game as skiers and snowboarders hurtle down the mountain in hopes of making the fastest time. Registration fee is $40. Looking for an edge? Check out the Rider Boot Camp on Friday, February 23, when you can warm up for the main event on a specially designed course filled with banked turns, jumps, and more.

  • Opry Night - Pocahontas County Opera House, 818 Third Ave., Marlinton, WV 24954
    Traditional music of the mountains is in the spotlight on Opry Night, one of the more eagerly anticipated events near Marlinton homes for sale. A stellar line-up of top local musicians, led by Mike and Mary Sue Burns, will be taking the stage together for the first time. Your toes will be tapping as soon as this group hits the first note! Showtime is 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 17, and tickets are $10 per person.

  • Cupp Run Challenge - Snowshoe Resort, 10 Snowshoe Dr., Snowshoe, WV 24954
    For nearly half a century, the Cupp Run Challenge has been the premier sporting event on Snowshoe Mountain. Part of the prestige comes from the fact that the spectacular run was designed by Jean-Claude Killy, legendary Olympic and world champion often referred to as "the Michael Jordan of skiing." Killy himself won the first Cupp Run Challenge, and his legacy lives on with the annual slalom race. Registration fee for all categories, which does not include lift ticket, is $60 per person. The race begins at 10:10 a.m. on Monday, February 5.

  • Mountain State Maple Day - Pocahontas County, WV
    Did you know that one of the largest concentrations of maple trees in the country is found right here in West Virginia? Explore the time-honored activity of maple syrup production during Mountain State Maple Day. Participating farms, many of them family-owned, will be offering sugar camp tours, kids' activities, and samples. Area restaurants will also feature special maple-focused items on their menus. Mountain State Maple Day takes place on Saturday, February 17 from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
