As a result, it offers a unique and diverse assortment of birds, including some seldom seen elsewhere in the state. Potential sightings include ruffed grouse, blue-headed vireo, winter wren, veery, northern waterthrush, American redstart, Canada warbler, dark-eyed junco, red crossbill, and purple finch. The 750-acre site is accessible via boardwalks, with trails extending outward into the Monongahela National Forest.

Following 78 miles of former railroad bed alongside the banks of its namesake river, the Greenbriar River Trail is one of West Virginia's premier multi-use trails near Cass homes for sale.
